Suggestions..

Cuznmark
Hey people. I am new to this software.. I am about to test it on a machine and if it goes well I am planning on getting a server setup to use this with Symantec BackupExec. are there any recommendations of which linux is easiest? and any hardware setup for about 5TB system?

Thanx.

I prefer a server system.. not a desktop with multiple sata drives.. I prefer a rack of drives scsi etc.. depends on cost.

The version you are most confortable with :)

I build RPMs suitable for SLES and RedHat, but develop on Ubuntu.

For use with BE, you need to install/configure an iSCSI target on linux too and connect from Win/BackupExec via iSCSI.

Lots of howto on iSCSI setup here.

Cheers
